MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10th


Malachi: P is for PLATYPUS


> Physical Therapy: Time in standing frame (45 minutes)

> Letter Journal: Practice writing the letter "P" in journal

> Craft: DIY paper bag platypus (Pinterest Inspo HERE) (with AAC language modeling around "core words" on Malachi's communication device)

> Platypus coloring sheet (with AAC language modeling of colors on Malachi's communication device)

Deacon: Number 3

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11th


Outing: Forest School Tuesday

The boys will both be participating in a Forest School program for two hours every Tuesday morning. They are part of a large group of kids and will spend the time learning about nature and engaging in unstructured play.




Online Group: Drum Circle

The boys have long participated in a weekly online drumming class with Drum to LEARN, a nonprofit organization. The instructor is a child development specialist who combines lessons in music and rhythm with social and emotional learning and literacy.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12th


Outing: Adventuring with South Sound Explorers at Fort Steilacoom Park Playground in Lakewood, WA

This is a homeschool playgroup that meets at different parks and playgrounds in our region. The group meets for three hours every Wednesday morning. The boys will both participate regularly in this group.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13th


Outing: Baby Story Time!

On Thursdays, Malachi and I take Deacon to a Baby Story Time program at our local library. It is hugely beneficial for Deacon to engage in the singing and dancing and to play with his peer group. Malachi enjoys the stories, too.


Speech Therapy at Greenhouse Therapy in Olympia, WA for MALACHI



FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14th


Valentine's Day breakfast with mom and dad at a local diner -- Strawberry French toast all-around!




Year-Long Project: Discover Dairy Adopt-A-Cow

The boys have "adopted" a calf this year from a rural dairy farm and will be learning about farm animal care and wellbeing, sustainable farm management practices, and the dairy industry during 2024-25 school year.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15th & SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16th


Traveled to Portland, Oregon, for MALACHI to participate in a physical therapy intensive program. The program guided him through continuous exercises while working to develop an updated home workout plan.
