MONDAY, OCTOBER 7th
Medical Appointment: Infusion Clinic for MALACHI at Seattle Children's Hospital -- a special medication to help with low bone density infused via IV. This was a long, three-hour appointment.
Outing: A visit to Moseby's Pumpkin Patch in Auburn, WA
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8th
Year-Long Project: Discover Dairy Adopt-A-Cow
The boys have "adopted" a calf this year from a rural dairy farm and will be learning about farm animal care and wellbeing, sustainable farm management practices, and the dairy industry during 2024-25 school year.

> Sensory Activity: Sensory play with kinetic sand in construction themed kit, digging, building bricks and knocking them down
> Book: "Diggersaurus" by Michael Whaite (with AAC language modeling)
> Speech Therapy at Greenhouse Therapy in Olympia, WA for Malachi
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11th
MALACHI -- "D is for DIRT"
> Letter Journal: Practice writing the letter "D" in journal
> Book: "Roy Digs Dirt" by David Shannon (with AAC language modeling)
> Video: "What's the Dirt on... Dirt?" by SciShow Kids (YouTube)
> Outdoor Learning: Explore dirt! Look closely at dirt with a magnifying glass and discuss what we find. We reviewed what we had learned about dirt from the SciShow Kids video, specifically the components of dirt and the importance of it. We also hypothesized what would happen if we got one part of our pile of dirt very wet. We practiced AAC language modeling using descriptive words to talk about the dirt.

Family Camp Weekend: CAMP KOREY!! in Mount Vernon, Washington
Camp Korey is a specialty camp for kids with life-altering medical diagnoses and chronic conditions. Our family attended a Family Camp weekend with 15 other families. Malachi tried adaptive archery and rock wall climbing. Deacon loved playing with the other kids
